About PS5X Guide

What this site is

PS5X Guide is a focused, community-oriented reference for the PS5X emulator — the experimental Xbox Series X|S port of the open-source KytyPS5 PlayStation 5 emulator. When the project was first demonstrated in September 2026, most coverage was scattered across news posts and YouTube videos, and readers kept hitting the same questions: Is it real? How do I install it? Which games work? Is it safe?

This site answers those questions in one place, and keeps the answers up to date as the project releases new builds.

What we publish

• Step-by-step installation guides for setting up Xbox Developer Mode and deploying PS5X.
• A compatibility list of every PS5 game reported booting or running on Xbox, with performance notes and evidence dates.
• Honest performance reporting — including the limits, like Developer Mode's 5GB memory cap and the DirectX translation overhead.
• Safety and legal guidance, including how to avoid fake "PS5X download" scam sites.

Who runs it

PS5X Guide is run by Randy WU, an independent tech enthusiast with a long-standing interest in emulation, console hardware and open-source software. The site is a personal project — not a company, not an agency, and not affiliated with any game developer or platform holder.

Our principles

• Facts over hype. Every compatibility claim is tied to a demonstration, release note, or verifiable report, with the date it was checked.
• No piracy. We do not host, link to, or encourage downloading copyrighted game files. The emulator requires legally obtained games, and so does our coverage.
• Independent. We are not paid by any party mentioned on this site, and we do not accept sponsored placements that would compromise accuracy.
• Transparent. When something is unverified or unknown, we say so instead of guessing.
